About Us
Welcome to the Designer Kode website, a website all about the different types of embroidery and how to get started.
We are big fans of embroidery having started out as hand embroiderers as a hobby and then progressed in the world of commercial embroidery, having started on hankerchiefs and pillows, through curtains and carpets to large industrial embroidery concepts.
What makes embroidery attractive to people is that it is an easily learned skill and one that can be used in daily life to brighten up otherwise mundane and plain objects for around the home and for personal wear.
Children are often taught to embroiser. It hones their motor skills and teaches them patience and the understanding of pattern and planning which helps in every part of their lives.
It is also a way that the child can spend quality time with their parents and often grandparents, away from the hustle of everyday life where they can spend the time chatting about everyday life and have something at the end of it.
A child loves to see something being created and will take pride in making something that can be shown in the home, whether it be a ‘home sweet home’ embroidery picture to a personalised pillow or an item of clothing with a special message on.
It’s not just children that enjoy Embroidery. Adults often love the creation process, the designing and planning and watching a creation come to life.
To be able to create objects that are unique and fit in with the home around them, to give as presents or simply to add personalisation to an item of clothing to identify it’s owner.
Of course the relaxation acheived by entering into the worlsd of embroidery and the health benefits of that relaxation cannot be ignored.
There are many uses for Embroidery and we hope to show you some within our website as we teach you the basics and point you in the right direction.
For experienced embroiderers, we hope to freshen your mind and give you new ideas.
We will aslo point you in the way of supplies and where you may obtain them from, whether that be from us or elsewhere.
more to the point though we want to help you enjoy embroidery and hope that it gives you and your children and family as much fun as we have had over the years.
So please enjoy our website and feel free to comment and add your own stories as and where you would like and please contact us if we can be of any assistance.
